Conversations In Modernism

When we were approached to pitch on the strategy for Ben Sherman’s e-commerce launch, we were rightfully excited. The brand has made some strong moves in the last 12 months, letting its classic Script range do its own work and introducing the Plectrum range to a new, creatively aware consumer: The Modernist.

To complement the brand’s new strap-line A Heritage of Modernism, we proposed a subtle and understated campaign built around engaging content and aspirational characters. Conversations in Modernism was born.

Exploring the rich ambiguities and multi-layered meanings encompassed by the term modernism, we’re curating conversations between three pairs of creatives at the top of their field, producing short-form films to be released between now and Christmas onbensherman.com.

The first of Ben Sherman’s Conversations in Modernism features bespoke shoemaker Sebastian Tarek talking to music entrepreneur Alex Robinson and has just gone live here. From childhood ambitions of wizardry, to the apparent decline of craftsmanship in the digital era, the conversation flows through the lives and times of these two gentlemen, and explores much more in between.
